5 Minutes With Jide Oketonade Photography LoveweddingsNG

‘5 Minutes with…’ is a series of short interviews with some of the esteemed vendors listed on our directory. If you missed any of our posts last year, catch up HERE. We get to know the brilliant people behind the brands we love. Today, we meet Jide of Jide Oketonade Photography; a wedding, lifestyle and portrait photography company.

Your Brand In Three Words… Creative, unique and exceptional.

The Part of My Job I Enjoy The Most?  The ability to express my passion for the job and meeting new people who are appreciative of what I do.

What’s the most difficult part of your job? Going through thousands of exceptional shots and selecting the best hundreds.

My Biggest Accomplishment To Date… It’s a big industry with a lot of professionals you know, the ability to make myself a force to reckon with in the industry is worthwhile.

Do you think Nigerian wedding vendors are respected enough? I can only speak for myself on this. Not so well I must say.

The Best Vendor you’ve worked with? Jide Odukoya of @jopstudios. He’s an epitome of professionalism. I see him as Ronaldo in this industry.

One Quality Every Nigerian Wedding Vendor Must Have and Why? Professionalism: this will determine how far your brand will go and the level of respect ascribed to you.

Most Embarrassing/Awkward Experience… I was trying to capture candid wedding guest moments at an event and one of them told me not to bother taking pictures of him because he had no change to give to me. So embarrassing!

Does anything scare you? I take things slow and steady and I always prepare myself for tough times to, that is why I take things as they unfold.

What makes you laugh? I’ve recently found solace in comedy skits

What’s the best souvenir you’ve gone home with from a wedding you’ve attended/worked at? A customized mug.

Your thoughts on social media? Social media has been immense helpful in branding my business. Imagine having this interview with one of the best wedding bloggers in Nigeria without social media…

Do you ever Google yourself or your company and what did you find? Of course I do. It’ was quite fascinating; I saw many of my works on Instagram and other social media platforms.

In my Spare Time, I keep myself up-to-date by watching tutorials and cartoons afterwards to relax.

Interesting Fact about You… I believe there is no dull moment with me. You will always have reasons to ‘shine your teeth’ *winks*

Where do you feel most at home? A home to me is any place where you are accepted as a part of the family irrespective of where it is.
