Tennis star Andy Murray got married to his long-term girlfriend Kim Sears in a ceremony in his hometown.
The couple, both 27, exchanged vows at the 12th Century cathedral before making their way to a small reception for family members and close friends. The reception held at Cromlix, which Murray bought in 2013 and converted into a luxury hotel. Hundreds of the world’s media captured the event which has sparked interest around the globe.
The Wimbledon and US Open-winning player was greeted by a huge cheer from the gathered crowd as he entered the venue with his brother Jamie. He wore a blue and green kilt while his bride – Kim wore a custom made embroidered gown by British designer – Jenny Packham. Kim’s dress featured a bespoke silk chiffon design and a full skirt with hand-beaded Swarovski crystal three-quarter length sleeves and waist detailing with an open back. Kim paired the dress with silver sandals from Jimmy Choo, a crystal headpiece and a cathedral length veil. The bride was accompanied by four bridesmaids in long pink gowns.
