How I met Dumebi

My friend (Awo) convinced me to move into Aruzi Lodge in my final year (2008); I didn’t know destiny was waiting in a tall, light-skinned, and handsome package. Awo was friends with his friends and that’s how Dumebi and I got to know each other. I remember asking him what his name was, and when he told me I fell in love with the name. We became good friends almost instantly. It was obvious we enjoyed being in each other’s company, and most people thought we were a pair long before we started dating. He always treated me specially (and still does) but I didn’t think it was going to lead anywhere. I guess I was wrong…look at us today, we are married!

Dumebi is simply amazing; he’s calm, sensible, godly, large-hearted, thoughtful, and loving. I never doubted for the 6 years we dated that he’ll be an amazing husband and a wonderful father.

How I met Ukot

We attended the same university, had a few courses together… but when we moved into the same lodge in my final year, I stopped dulling and made my move. Not every undergrad girl has the confidence to serve you rice and shawarma when you first visit her, or the acumen to run a recharge card biz, or the fitness to play basketball, but that’s the kind of girl Ukot is…she has it all. We became close quite fast, and after I made several 8hr trips to and fro Uyo to see her, we started dating in 2009 during my service year. While dating, we were sometimes in different towns, states, countries but our love only grew stronger. When I went down on one knee at a family dinner, she said YES (c’mon read above what she thinks about me 🙂

It’s been 6+ years filled with love and laughter and I have never doubted my choice to make her my wife. I love you Ukot! :-*”
