How They Met
Hmmmmm, Hakeem my better half, my medicine, my everything. Love is indeed beautiful and when you find one never let it fly away. Mine restarted when I found my Hakeem, the definition of true love.
It all began while chatting with a friend some weeks after my birthday. We were gisting about life and all and somehow, the gist of me not having a bobo came up. He then said I had an “admirer”; he sounded serious (On my birthday, my friend used my picture as his DP). I reminded him that I had just come out of a relationship and all and we left it there that day.
A few days later, he sent me a message. As expected I said No… lol, but then he was so persistent and serious that I started laughing. Eventually, I asked him to tell me about this ‘special’ guy. Of course, he painted a wonderful image (lol). Anyways, he got me interested and I asked him to send pictures of this ‘special’ person.
One thing led to another, we exchanged BBM pins, became friends and more. He was always there for me, very God-fearing, caring and hard working. All these made me fall in love with him. We eventually started visiting each other and became fond of each other.

Ours started when a very close friend introduced her to me..
At first… Iwas hesitant… unsure… becuase to me, real love is built on that ‘unique connection’ at neutral first meetings. Unknown to me, true love grows in different ways.
When we first spoke, I was entranced by her smooth, cool voice. Soft like a ghost’s whisper but yet firm and determined. We spoke more and more… got to know each other better.
Then we met…
Again, soft looks…bold eyes with befitting cool features. Best of all… gentle, polite with a resilient spirit to match. There and then, I knew I had found the one.
Since then, we’ve grown stronger and closer and more fond of each other. We’ve shared old memories and built new ones…we fell more and more in love with each other.
Eventually, in the most unconventional fashion, I popped the question. With a racing heart and poorly-filled lungs, I held on until she responded in the affirmative. The rest is history..

The Proposal
Before the D-day, he asked me about what kind of rings I like and all. At a point, he even forgot and started making it a bit obvious. I teased him about this and he stopped asking and tried to be more ‘coded’ about it. By then I already knew lol.
Few months later, he told me he was visiting. I knew what was coming and suddenly became nervous lol. He was in Nigeria for only four days and a day before he left, I went to see him. I noticed he was a bit nervous and restless. Strangely enough, at that point I wasn’t anymore.
After a while, he held my hands and started telling me how wonderful I have been to him and how he wants to spend the rest of his life with me and all. He went on his knees and popped the question. I was just there laughing lol. Now, we will be married in few days by God’s grace… EXCITED
