This wedding inspiration photoshoot from a group of UK vendors has two themes – ‘Cloud by day’ and ‘Fire by night’. The shoot was inspired by a Bible story taken from the book of Exodus about a group of people being led by a pillar of cloud and fire.
Then the angel of God, who had been leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp. The pillar of cloud also moved from the front and stood behind them. The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. As darkness fell, the cloud turned to fire, lighting up the night.. Exodus 14:19-20 (NLT)
Cloud by day
The cloud by day shoot is an elegant ivory and gold set-up, while the night photos are edgier with black, red and gold. The cloud by day set comprised of a heavily detailed tablescape with ivory phalaenopsis orchids with a touch of pale pink and hydrangeas and roses in deep ivory. It included a lush floral chandelier, to symbolising a ‘cloud’. A gorgeous chain table runner to symbolize freedom; central to the message within the inspiration for the shoot. Lots of feathers for softness. A beautiful white cake, consisting of rich delicate light textures. An intentionally simple yet elegant model was styled in a gorgeous lace dress with makeup in a ‘natural beauty’ enhancing neutral tone. Styling for her hair consisted of loose curls in a stylish updo.
Enjoy!
Fire by night
The fire by night set was an intentional polar opposite of the first set. It was important to communicate darkness with illumination only by fire, also keeping in theme with the inspiration for the shoot. The cake in this set consisted of shades of rich gold and was embellished with a cascading lace design, on a bed of roses. The heavily floral centerpiece in the center of the tablescape was symbolic of a pillar of fire. There was a floral runner with crystal drops at the ends to give the expression of heat – cold being melted away by fire. The same model as the first set, however this time, with a completely different look; understated yet glamorous. Make up and hair here were done in a more provocative style, denoting a less than subtle depth in personality and character than previously seen. The tablescape comprised of multiple layers of fire, from a statement floral candelabra to lush gold candlelabras, stemmed candle holders and lower beautiful votive candleholders.
