Oliver & Bearnadine had a 50’s Hollywood vintage glamour themed wedding and the couple shared stunning details and pictures from their wedding via their event stylist and #LWNGVendor – AFMENA Events.
The words to describe the look for the day were opulent romance.
We wanted a look that complimented us therefore we put together a mixture of styles and created our own. We love deep rich colours hence their dominance throughout the wedding. Our colour palette were wine, red, pink, orange and gold. General comments from our vendors were filled with intrigue as it was very uncommon for brides to use such a colour palette. They tend to err on the side of caution and go with a more nude colour palette.
The response from our vendors further filled us with excitement and confirmed our desires of moving away from the “norm”.
Parisian Baroque was another term that was coined during our planning process. We loved the vibrant and vivid nature of the time and wanted to incorporate elements of this style within all aspects of our decor.
Choccywoccydoodah was a vendor that was on our wavelength. We are quite a quirky couple and this definitely was personified through our cake. However, they were still able to maintain the rich romantic theme we wanted to achieve.
The bride (me) adores the 50’s and old Hollywood vintage glamour. It was only right that this must be highlighted through the bridal party and both Ollie and I.
Surprisingly, I didn’t know Ollie was going to bestow upon the groomsmen canes and top hats, which worked perfectly with my interpretation of old Hollywood glamour.
Deborah Lola was absolutely amazing with translating my vision clearly with all of my bridesmaids and my hair. Considering, we did not have a trial before hand and that causing anxiety, she was brilliant. I salute her work ethic on the day.
Make-up provided the finishing touches for the overall look of old Hollywood glamour and Lake definitely supported my vision despite the unusual choice brides take for the ceremony. I wanted something vampy and classic which I thought would be more interesting to the eye than the natural rose gold pastel ensemble.
Alonuko is extremely talented and brought my vision to life. I was a bride that definitely went out of the box and put a variety of styles together to create my dress e.g. embroidery and lace. Something Gbemi commented as being uncommon for her brides as they seem to choose one or the other. I loved that we were able to create a dress together from scratch and I had no doubt in my mind that she would be able to execute my idea. Again I wanted something classic with hints of glamour and her fitting accentuated the look. I absolutely loved my dress!
We wanted our guests to have a personal feel at our wedding and had personalised scented candles by sweetness and light which had a variety of scents and every guests name on a candle. Additionally, we provided a personalised bag for each person.
Quirky, fun and vibrant three words we would describe us and our bridal party hence the thought of creating a dance for our bridal team to lead us in was inevitable. They did amazingly considering the time constraints and our dj’s rounded it off with a mind-blowing mix that got everybody out of their seats.
Again we salute these guys!
