Princess Eugenie & Jack Brooksbank’s Royal Wedding

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank got married on the 12th of October, 2018 at St. George’s chapel in Windsor castle. This is the second royal wedding this year; the first was in May when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married. Princess Eugenie and Jack met eight years ago in Verbier and got engaged in January 2018. The Royal Family shared childhood photos of the couple on Twitter.

Guests at the royal wedding included members of the royal family, supermodels, actresses, singers such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Demi Moore, singer, Ellie Goulding, James Blunt, Robbie Williams, Ricky Martin, Stephen Fry and more

We loved a lot of things about their wedding and we thought to share some of them with you. Enjoy!

The autumnal floral arrangement by Rob van Helden looked very stunning. According to Hello Magazine, Rob used “seasonal foliage and flowering branches for the striking blooms, sourced locally from Windsor Great Park.” The arrangements featured a unique combination of Liquid Amber trees, roses, spray roses, hydrangeas, dahlias and berries.

You don’t have to wear a veil: Princess Eugenie opted to wear a dress, which featured a low-back design designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos with no veil. The Royal Family explained that the design was specifically requested by the bride as she wanted to show off her scar from the surgery she had at the age of 12 to correct scoliosis. She hopes this inspires others suffering from curvatures of the spine. Thanks, Princess Eugenie for reminding us to be proud of our scars.

According to the Royal Family, the fabric had a number of symbols that are meaningful to the Princess such as “a Thistle for Scotland acknowledging the couple’s fondness for Balmoral; a Shamrock for Ireland as a reflection of the Bride’s maternal family; the York Rose; and ivy representing the couple’s home.”

The royal wedding’s strict hat dress code for female guests took us back to Royal Ascot land. The only female guest we spotted without a hat was Princess Beatrice, who wore a blue and purple headband-like piece from Sarah Cant, which matched her dress by Ralph and Russo.

It is okay for a younger sibling to get married before you and they can even join your bridal party: In Nigeria and in more traditional parts of the world, it’s almost an unspoken rule that marriage dates within a family need to follow a certain order. Princess Eugenie got married before her elder sister, Princess Beatrice who also served as her maid of honour. In certain parts of the world, this would probably be forbidden.

The groom, Jack also chose his sibling, Thomas Brooksbank to stand by his side as he said ‘I Do’.

Customise your vows: Hello magazine reports that Princess Eugenie followed in the footsteps of Princess Diana, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle by not promising to ‘obey’ her husband during her vows. Diana reportedly refused to do this at her wedding in 1981, which was termed very controversial.

No matter what goes wrong, pick yourself up with grace: It was so windy and a couple of things went wrong. Six-year-old pageboy Louis de Givenchy was knocked to the ground by strong winds. Lady Louise Windsor who also arrived with Prince George and Princess Charlotte also got blown by the wind. A few ladies, including Robbie Williams’ mother-in-law, .. also lost their hats with the gusty wind.

In all these cases, they all picked themselves up and carried on with grace. We think this is a lesson for every couple, wedding guest and more; regardless of what happens, just carry on and the world will be okay.

The autumn-themed wedding cake: According to the Royal Family’s Twitter handle, the “couple chose a red velvet and chocolate cake, inspired by the rich colours of autumn.”

Friendly Family Exes: We’ve heard this argument several times about whether or not exes of a family member should be invited to a wedding. Well, Chelsy Davy; Prince Harry’s ex was invited to the wedding as she’s very close friends with the bride. Not all breakups are dramatic and sad and we think it’s important to keep things cordial and

The 007 Ride: The couple drove off from their reception in a car that featured in James Bond film, Spectre.
