A Northern Bride in George fabric! The Kamu Collection will convince you

For the longest time, George fabric was always seen as the fabric for Igbo traditional brides. However, Nigerian fabric supplier, George by Ruvero Designs is challenging that stereotype with her latest bridal collection tagged The Kamu collection, which shows how Northern brides can wear George fabric. Rukky from George by Ruvero Designs shared;

This collection was inspired by the brides of the north. It seeks to promote the versatility of George fabrics in the Nigerian wedding industry.

Let’s talk about our collection! The Kamu collection springs out from the Kamu northern ceremony, This ceremony is centered on the bride, during this ceremony; the bride is styled with heavily embellished fabrics, jewelry, hennas, lally adornments, turban headgear, and a veil to cover her face. Expensive perfumes are sprayed on the bride before she is unveiled.

Let us dive straight into the northern styling – The styling of the north bride stays very moderate and decent but yet sophisticated, elegant and their fabrics heavily embellished. The northern woman loves fabrics and the George fabric is a perfect representation of what the north loves; it isn’t restricted to ethnicity, age groups, or religion, George fabric can be worn by everyone.

The Kamu collection clearly exhibits how our luxury 3D Net George fabric – lace George fabrics, and silk George fabrics – can be tailored into diverse styles as illustrated by different Abuja based designers in this collection. Every piece exudes luxury, elegance and an ideal combination of sophisticated modern styling.

The northern groom is styled in an agbada made with SHADDAH fabric. with an embroidery woven cap on his head.

All the pieces in this northern bridal inspired collection were made from George fabric by Ruvero designs and designed & tailored by some of Abuja’s top bridal designers. We hope this shoot inspires a Northern Miss as she looks forward to becoming a Mrs.
