Kosibah’s first bridal ready to wear collection, Asheyori is a must-see!

Luxury bridal design house, Kosibah released its Fall 2021 bridal collection tagged ‘Asheyori‘ on Friday, the 9th of October 2020. The Ready-to-Wear collection, which debuted at New York Bridal Fashion Week’s fashion segment & short film presentation, features eight gowns and one pantsuit in response to the need for more accessible gowns while maintaining the Kosibah aesthetic. The pieces will be available via selected bridal salons and online sales. Award-winning Nigerian-British designer, Yemi Osunkoya, who is also behind the Kosibah label, shared;

The name Asheyori derives from the Yoruba language which means Success Through Adversity, which is the birthing story of the collection during our current unprecedented times. The dresses all have variations of Yoruba ‘Cherish’ names which have ‘ké’ which means love/care for/adore within them.

The collection features beaded lace appliques, a two-piece wrap peplum jacket with a soaring v-shaped neckline, internal corsets, and softly gathered ballgown skirts in layers of tulle, organza, and taffeta.
