Nigerian couple, Favour and Johnson got married on the 4th and 6th of January 2023 at the #UltimateWeddingParty23 planned by Pink Nectar Experience. The couple shared their love story, which started in church, and pictures from their pre-wedding shoot. Enjoy!
Her *correct* version
We first met on a Sunday in September of 2018, or at least that was when I first met him. I had just gotten into nursing school and he was starting his Master’s program. We both stood up to identify as first-timers at the church and after the group meeting, he introduced himself. He tried to get my number but apparently, his battery was dead, so he gave me his and asked me to call him.
As the nice babe that I am, I actually tried to call him later that week but it kept saying the number was unreachable. This man had given me the wrong number. We later met again in front of Chipotle next to my apartment.
From then on he would come to meet me at the library, at singing practice, drive me to go get my groceries, et cetera. Johnson kept telling his roommates and sister I was his wife and that I just didn’t know it yet. lol.
We officially became an item 24th of December 2018. It has been a beautiful journey ever since. I have stories for days, lessons I’ve learned both from him and with him. I am so blessed to be able to do life with my baby *tears*. May our love and bond live forever.
His *more correct* version (The hunter’s perspective)
Like she said we actually did meet on a Sunday in September of 2018. But I had seen the fine babe weeks before sha. We met after church obviously, at a first-timers meeting. I didn’t realize she was there until we started introducing ourselves (lo and behold the fine babe was Nigerian).
After the meeting, I introduced myself to her and then gave her my number. I waited for weeks and she never called. Apparently, I gave her the wrong number. How that happened, I don’t know!
What’s yours will find you – Unknown
One afternoon weeks later, I randomly chose to go grab something to eat from my least favorite restaurant, and coincidentally there she was again. After a few chuckles about the wrong number mess, we exchanged the correct number this time and started talking.
We eventually became friends and started hanging out a lot. After much shakara she finally agreed to go on a date with me. As a gentleman, I later asked her to be my girlfriend (she pulled a let me think and pray on it on me) and she said her first yes to me. On the 24th of December 2018 (my Christmas gift came early) we officially became a couple. Like they say the rest is history.

But to continue is a choice;
And I find myself choosing you
More and more every day.” — Justin Wetch
Achalugo I’m grateful to God for making you my forever partner.
