2026 has barely cleared its throat and we are already deep in wedding season. From Valentine’s Day billboards in Lekki to ivory two-pieces on a checkered marble floor, Nigerian celebrities have come out swinging this year, and we have been watching every single second.
Here are the weddings that have had us absolutely glued to our timelines so far.
Simi Sanya & Femi Dapson #MeetTheDapsons26
Lifestyle content creator Simi Sanya and film producer Femi Dapson gave us the full package this year; from the engagement in July 2025 to their family introduction in November, a court wedding in February 2026, and a traditional wedding in March that had the entire internet in its grip. Femi, who is also known as Uncle Dapson, announced Valentine’s Day 2026 by flooding digital billboards across Lekki Phase 1 and Lekki Phase 2 with love messages for Simi. “A private message wasn’t enough, I needed to shout it so everyone can see,” he said. Simi replied: “When I saw this, I screamed!“
Their civil wedding in February was officially the moment things got legally binding; Simi radiant in a chic cream dress by Stitches by Aisy and Femi dapper in a beige suit by TI Nathan Official. Then came the traditional wedding in March, and that is where the fashion became a full conversation.
Simi and Femi gave us three distinct looks across their traditional wedding day and each one told its own story. Their first look arrived in blush pink and forest green: Simi in a fitted off-shoulder gown by Prudential Gabriel with dramatic sculptural green pleated fan sleeves and a matching gele. Femi wore a pink agbada by HRH Bespoke Imperial with heavy green geometric embroidery. This look was styled by Emmanuel Goodnews,
Their second look for the reception moved into butter yellow and deep crimson, Simi in a fully beaded Veekee James two-piece with a peplum top and a long skirt featuring bands of yellow beadwork, and Femi in a coordinated Tochini Bespoke agbada styled by Regal by Dovin. For the after-party? Simi went full drama in a fringe mini dress with gradient purple-to-orange-to-green fringe and multicoloured disc appliquรฉs, while Femi stood beside her in a burnt-orange brocade set with a gold-embroidered cream vest. Another look styled by Emmanuel Goodnews.
Three looks, zero misses.
Akin Faminu & Kiky Festus’ #HookedOnTheFaminus
Doctor and fashion influencer, Akin Faminu and dental officer and lifestyle content creator Kiky Festus are one of Nigeria’s most stylish couples, and in 2026, they are turning their love story into a full four-ceremony wedding journey. They got engaged in December 2025, with Akin proposing in Paris because of course he did. Their civil wedding took place on the 13th of April 2026, and it is already being described as one of the most fashion-forward wedding moments of the year. Two more ceremonies, a traditional wedding and a white wedding are still to come. We are buckled in.
At their civil wedding, Akin and Kiky didn’t give us one look. They gave us three, all styled by The Style Infidel, and every single one landed. Their official first look featured Kiky in a structured ivory long-sleeved two-piece by Mazelle Bridal with a pillbox hat and birdcage veil, and Akin in a sharp white dinner jacket by Deji and Kola with black trousers and a long white tie. Photographed on a black and white checkered marble floor in a grand hall, the visual was breathtaking.
Their second look brought a warm pink dress by Mide World for Kiky with a rose detail at the back and a deconstructed stitch-work suit by Deji and Kola for Akin, shot in an art gallery. For their third look, Kiky stepped into a sheer tulle bridal robe by Robes by Tinak Atelier with pearl and bead detailing, while Akin went entirely left in a bold custom blue blazer and white trousers by Orange Culture NG. Experimental, daring, and completely them.
Fisayo Longe & Folabi Mosuru #NeverGettingMarried
This one needs no introduction but we will give it one anyway, because it deserves it. Oluwafisayomi ‘Fisayo’ Longe, CEO of KAI Collective and one of Nigeria’s most influential fashion entrepreneurs, and Afolabi Ayodeji Mosuru shut the internet down with their #NeverGettingMarried wedding announcement. After nearly five years together, Folabi proposed in May 2025 in the most romantic sunset setting imaginable, rose petals, soft music, a stunning ring, and a genuinely gobsmacked Fisayo asking “Is this a dream?” On the 17th of April 2026, they held their introduction ceremony and traditional wedding in Lagos, Nigeria.
For a woman who has spent a decade building a fashion empire rooted in bold, intentional, joy-filled dressing, every look Fisayo wore across her wedding weekend was an event. As the CEO and creative director of KAI Collective, a brand beloved for its main character energy, the expectation was always that she would show up and show out. And she did, across both her introduction ceremony and traditional wedding, in looks that honoured her heritage, her aesthetic and the version of herself she has always unapologetically been.

L.A.X & Ella Engagement announced January 2026
Nigerian songwriter and rapper L.A.X โ born Damilola Afolabi โ and fashion entrepreneur Ella have been together since 2022, building a relationship full of travel, devotion and very sweet public moments. After three years, he got down on one knee in January 2026 in a soft, emotional proposal that had everyone’s 32 out. Their wedding is one of the most anticipated of the year and we will be right here when it happens.
And that is 2026 so far! With L.A.X and Ella’s wedding still to come, and Akin Faminu and Kiky Festus still with a traditional and white wedding to deliver, Nigerian celebrity wedding season has only just begun.
