By now, you already know that Akin Faminu and Kiky Festus are not doing anything small. From their Paris proposal to the civil wedding we already covered right here on LoveWeddingsNG, this couple has been giving us one beautiful moment after another, and their pre-wedding looks are no different.
With their main wedding celebration happening this Saturday, September 5th, with both the traditional wedding ceremony, the couple has given us 4 pre-wedding looks as part of the countdown.
Four looks, four completely different energies, and four very good reasons why #HookedOnTheFaminus has not left our screens all through. So, let’s get into every single one.
Look 1 — Always and Forever

The first look set the tone immediately, and the venue alone was already doinplenty. It was shot under a red crystal chandelier with warm golden light at Boho Lagos, this look felt like the opening scene of a film you already know is going to be good.
Kiky wore a blush pink structured corset mini dress by First Lady NG, with 3D floral details at the bodice and a ruched, layered skirt. And those green embellished heels? Such a small detail, but they definitely made you look twice. Akin wore a deep forest green three piece long coat suit by Deji and Kola, a blush pink shirt that matched up Kiky’s colour, a floral brooch and a pocket watch chain that gave the whole look an old world feel.
And then there is the black-and-white version of the shoot, with spotlight beams cutting through the dark, was one of the most cinematic couple images we have seen all year.
Look 2 — Deeply Rooted in Love

Now this one? Culture understood the assignment. Look two is the traditional pre-wedding portrait, and it is deeply rooted in culture in the best way possible.
Kiky wore a richly embellished deep burgundy beaded gown by Ololade Atelier, with sculptural sleeves that brought so much grandeur to every frame. Her matching burgundy gele by Demmy Gele pulled everything together, while the layered diamond necklace and white clutch by Shop with Yah added just the right amount of sparkle.
Akin wore a vibrant orange coral beaded chest piece over a colourful patchwork agbada by Blackadudu, with a burgundy cap and gold accessories. He looked like royalty and, judging by the pictures, he knew it too.
The wooden door background and earthy outdoor setting also give this look a cultural feel. They captioned it “Deeply Rooted in Love,” and the looks said exactly that.
Look 3 — With You Is Where I’ll Always Be

After all that opulence, look three comes in and says, “Okay, let’s relax.” It was shot in a lush green garden, both Kiky and Akin wore looks by Afrique Kod in brown earth tones. The whole shoot has this quiet, laid-back energy that feels completely different from the first two looks.
Kiky wore a brown beaded halter-neck mini dress with a matching beaded bag. Akin went for a beige linen short sleeved shirt with brown beadwork detailing on the chest, paired with matching trousers with a beaded pocket detail.
This is the one that makes you forget you are looking at a styled pre-wedding shoot and makes it feel like you are simply watching two people who are very happy to be together.
Look 4 — The Yin to My Yang

This time, the couple went for full-on contrast, posing against a bold split black-and-white circular backdrop. Kiky wore a black structured mermaid gown by Sherry Stylish NG, with a white pearl edged off shoulder ruffle at the neckline and a sweeping train. She accessorised with a diamond necklace and earrings by Shop with Yah.
Akin went in the complete opposite direction in a white textured three-piece suit by Deji and Kola, worn over a black turtleneck and finished with layered pearl chains and dark sunglasses.
Her black look against his white suit against that backdrop is the kind of visual that makes you stop scrolling immediately. The caption “The Yin to My Yang.” on their social media handles just fits perfectly and we cannot think of a better way to put it either.
This Saturday, September 5th, Akin Faminu and Kiky Festus will celebrate teir trad wedding ceremony. And if these pre-wedding looks are these hot, we are absolutely not ready.
Congratulations to the Faminus. We cannot wait to see what Saturday looks like. 🤍
