Nigerian couple, Desola Bada and Akinbisodun Ogunjulugbe met in 2006 and they’ve been through it all; long-distance, ups and downs, makeup and breakup periods and more but their love survived. The couple said ‘I Do’ on the 26th of December 2019 in Lagos, Nigeria. Read their love story and view pictures from their beautiful wedding by Jide Kola below.
How they met
We met in June 2006 at a birthday party that my friends and I left school to attend in Lagos. There was no need for too much toasting or sweet-talking. We kicked it off right from the jump and were almost inseparable.
I was about to start my final year in CU and he had just graduated from Babcock Uni and was off to serve in Katsina. The distance never stopped us. He surprised me a few times like showing up for my graduation in 2007 when he was meant to be in Katsina and I had to do my own back.
So I snuck out of my house in Abeokuta with my sister, Busola, to surprise him at his birthday party on the 26th of December (also our wedding day) in Lagos. No we didn’t get caught!
We’ve had so many ups and downs, broken up in between, and we’ve had to do long-distance relationship since I moved to Yankee (the US) and he was in Jand (London) and Nigeria.
Despite all, we’ve been inseparable. It always felt like we kicked off like we never left. Every time we spent apart has helped us grow into appreciating the love we share. We are so glad we have finally taken this big step and we are looking forward to our forever story.
