Nigerian wedding planner, TheEventGirl NG organised a very happy bridal shoot to inspire Nigerian brides. We’re so excited to share the story behind the shoot, which according to Vivian Esekhile, the CEO of TheEventGirl NG proves that “if you can think it, you can do it.”
On the eve of our 3rd year anniversary at TheEventGirl, I thought about all I have achieved and all I haven’t done and I took my notepad and wrote them down
- Book 10brides for 1st Quarter
- Do a Themed photo shoot with known collaborators
- Plan a destination wedding by the end of the year 2017
I checked the first box in the first quarter with our anniversary campaign in February and I started working on the theme for the shoot. Our mission @theventgirlng is to make every bride happy so I came up with “Happy Brides are TheEventGirl brides“ and our inspiration came from all things floral, beautiful and fun just like spring.
Contacting collaborators was the next hurdle to cross, I made a call to a photographer friend of mine and I got discouraged because what I got was “Viv, I don’t see this shoot coming out nice, I will think of better ideas and get back to you.” I waited and never heard back from the photographer. I almost gave up as I thought my idea was not good enough but one day I got a call from MikaelB as we recently just concluded a job together for #TheOhEmGees . In discussion I passively mentioned the “Happy brides” bridal shoot and he jumped on it with excitement. He became my driving force unknowingly pushing me to see it through. When I got confused, I spoke to @loveweddingsng and they helped me put all my ideas into perspective.
Other collaborators; Yemi, Omoye, Sleame, The Wedding TV made everything fall into place. Within a week, the venue was sealed for Jerome’s garden and we were good to go. I got a last minute call from StyleMoe requesting to join the team and she did everything possible to make her accessories available for the day.
I sent a mail to everyone with the moodboard I put together for the shoot during my research and they followed the brief and went beyond.
Shoot day! Nobody could contain my excitement, I had all this wonderful vendors in one place just to make this vision a success. My creative team was on point.
My aim for the shoot was to show that behind every beautiful bride, there is a team of creatives that have literally stopped time to make her dream wedding come to pass.
I wish to encourage all entrepreneurs out there to never be afraid to show what you carry on the inside. Special thanks to all the vendors who collaborated with me on this, may our work never go unnoticed.
Enjoy this vision we put together in pictures and video and don’t forget “Happy Brides are TheEventGirl brides!
Love
