Ewa’s vintage-inspired civil bridal look is perfect!

Ewa and Jerry had their civil wedding recently and the bride was styled by Nigeria’s premier bridal stylist, The Wardrobe Manager (TWM). We caught up with the bridal stylist and founder of TWM, Tosin Agboola to find out all about Mrs. Salami’s modern vintage civil bridal look.

Because it was a civil wedding look, we wanted something a little different from the norm so we mixed a bit of vintage with the birdcage hat.

We also wanted a cape look for the outfit (it would have been boring if we just had a sleeveless dress). We looked through different celebrity pictures and one of Melania Trump’s looks spoke to me. Melania loves her capes and Ewa (the bride) also liked a few cape-inspired looks that we had shared with her so we infused this into her look.

Ewa wanted Imad Eduso to design her dress because she liked her work so we knew it had to be satin. We sent the mood board to Imad Eduso to create a design. We wanted the look to be sexy to match the bride’s personality and style so we came up with the sweetheart neckline and the added high cape neckline for a more regal look. The midlength dress showed off her curves. Everything else was minimal and subtle but well put together

The protests disrupted our plans a little; we had a different plan for the flowers but we had to change the brief last minute to baby’s breath and pink roses; the bouquet was supplied by Adela’s Flowers.

The court shoes were classic and nice; her makeup – minimal and subtle. Her hair was styled in a bun with a clean side part sweep to give an illusion of a longer face structure. No bracelet, just simple studs.
