#TheArtistAndHisMuse2021. Nigerian fashion designer, Toyin Lawani and photographer, Segun Wealth tied the knot in Lagos. The couple had an all-black-themed Yoruba traditional wedding on Saturday, the 12th of June 2021. The wedding ceremony had a number of celebrities in attendance; from Tiwa Savage, Laycon, Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, IK Ogbonna, Alexx Ekubo, Pretty Mike, Anita Joseph, Toyin Abraham, Denrele Edun, Laura Ikeji, Susan Peters, to Yomi Casual, and more.
Is Asare Bernice married? The Ghanaian actress shared videos of what looked like a bridal prep session on Instagram. Her makeup artist, Anima shared in a post “Private traditional marriage for the beautiful kumawood actress ongoing!!! #Bebe2021“. Asare also shared, in one of her videos; ‘What my God cannot do doesn’t exist #Bebe2021‘. Her posts got a lot of congratulatory comments but the actress hasn’t confirmed the news as of the time of this report.
Alexx Ekubo’s wedding date. The Nigerian actor and his fianceé, Fancy Acholonu had us guessing all week if their wedding is set to hold in November. Earlier in the week, Alexx posted a photo of himself with the caption, ‘www.ALEXXEKUBO.com‘, and Fancy posted a comment; ‘www.OhMyOvaries.com‘ to which, he responded; ‘www.BeCalmingDownTillAfterNovember.com‘. Later on, in the week, Alexx shared another picture of himself with the caption ‘After November its all over for you singuu’s… Na so so “my wife said, my wife did” una go dey hear…“
We are catching all the clues so roll on November, we can’t wait for #Falexx. You’ll recall the couple announced their engagement online on the 3rd of May 2021.
Gwen Stefani’s Bridal Shower. The American singer and 2021 bride-to-be posted a photo from her bridal shower last week. According to People, Gwen shared that which was was “kidnapped” for a surprise bridal shower to celebrate her upcoming wedding to her fiancé, Blake Shelton. The couple got engaged in October 2020.
What would have been Jess Wright’s wedding day. The former TOWIE star was set to marry her fiancé, William Lee-Kemp in June but their wedding had to be postponed. She shared a photo on Instagram with the caption; “Happy what would have been our wedding day to you my love“. In an interview with Hello!, she shared that her wedding was due to take place this summer in Majorca with 15 bridesmaids but with so much uncertainty about travel, they decided on a new date in September.
Bridesmaids Transparency Letters! Tik Tok user, @lisalovesrandom’s reaction video to @stephanieberman7’s post published on the 6th of April 2021 went viral last week. Stephanie had posted a video earlier, where she shared; ‘When you agree to be a bridesmaid without realizing it’ll cost 3 whole paychecks and every second of your PTO for the year‘. Lisa responded to the video by sharing a tip on how she was transparent with her bridal party; she added a ‘Transparency Letter‘ to her bridesmaid’s proposal boxes. The letter entailed her expectations as they assume the bridesmaid roles, cost, and commitment. The Tik Tok post got over 800,000 likes, over 4,000 comments, and 10,000 shares.

‘The water to my kidneys’: Nigerian doctor and social media influencer, Nonso Egemba (a.k.a. Aproko Doctor) celebrated his first wedding anniversary. He shared a photo on Twitter; ‘Exactly one year ago, I married a Queen. If I could do this again, I’ll still choose you @chef_amakaa You’re the water to my kidneys. 😘‘.
Roju. Nigerian singer, Chiké released the video for his hit song, Roju. The video celebrates enduring love and diverse cultures with a wedding extravaganza. The music video, directed by Pink for Pinkline Films, features popular traditional wedding rites from the Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba cultures in Nigeria. The song from the Boo of the Booless album, since its release, has been a popular choice for Nigerian couples and their DJs during the wedding reception. Watch the video below.
