President Buhari’s ‘wedding’, Anita Adetoye & Emmanuel Ikubese’s introduction & More Wedding News

Last week, we heard about President Buhari’s rumoured wedding, makeup artist – Anita Adetoye of AnitaBrows and former Mr. Nigeria, Emmanual Ikubese had their introduction, Marcy Dolapo Oni-Sijuwade celebrated her 4th wedding anniversary. Here’s all the wedding news you missed last week. 

This picture of a supposed wedding invite for President Muhammadu Buhari’s wedding hit the internet. According to the invite, President Muhammadu Buhari was set to wed Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development. However, a number of sources, including presidential spokesman – Femi Adesina & Dele Momodu, have debunked the news claiming it’s all a rumour.

Makeup artist and CEO of Anita Brows, Anita Adetoye and former Mr. Nigeria, Emmanuel Ikubese had their introduction on Saturday, the 12th of October. The couple shared clips from the ceremony, which is the first leg of their #RoadToBae2020 wedding celebrations. We’re counting down to #RoadToBae2020, the traditional, white wedding and all else in between. 

Lakin Ogunbanwo‘s photography series tagged ‘E wa wo mi‘ will be showcased in Nigeria at the Niki Cryan Gallery from the 14th of October to the 3rd of November 2019. Media personality and YouTube vlogger, Marcy Dolapo Oni-Sijuwade celebrated her 4th wedding anniversary to Prince Adegbite Sijuwade last week. She shared the post above on Instagram with the caption; “My Homie, Lover, Friend! Happy Anniversary!! Love you to the moon and back ? ❤️ 4 years down and forever to go by Gods grace ????????”

The couple had their traditional wedding on Sunday, the 2nd of August 2015 at Landmark Events Center in Oniru, Lagos and their white wedding held in London in 2015 with a wedding reception at the prestigious Dorchester hotel. Prince Sijuwade is the son of the 15th traditional ruler of Ile-Ife. They welcomed their first child in 2017.

Nigerian comedian, Gbadamasi Agbanjor Jonathan (popularly known as MC Edo Pikin) had his white wedding recently. The comedian shared first photos from his wedding to Lily Ajiroghene Isikeh on Instagram last week

Pop star, Rihanna gave us a hint about what her dream wedding dress would look like. In a recent interview with Vogue, the 31-year old Barbadian singer and Fenty designer shared; ‘It would probably be a collaboration between myself and [John] Galliano, of course.’

Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold’s younger sister, Fadekemi Kafilat Kosoko (popularly known by her Instagram handle @thatlagosgirl) had her introduction last weekend. The bride-to-be looked stunning in her green and blue outfit. Her brother, Adekunle Gold and his wife, Simi attended the first leg of the #FadésCupOfTee wedding celebrations.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka and her husband, Dr. Mhinga celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Yvonne took to Instagram with the post below and the caption;

God is amazing all the time. 30 years ago, Dr Mhinga asked for my hand in marriage and I said Yes I DO 30 years later, we still together. Today is our 30th weeding anniversary. I cannot stop thanking the Lord, who brought us together I was 24. Now I am 54 and we have been together for 30 years. Time flies, 7th October 1989 we said Yes We Do. We Thank You Lord .
